JUUL Enters Korean Market
#1
According to the Korea Herald, JUUL Labs is expected to enter the Korean market in 2019.

At the end of 2018, the company established the local subsidiary JUUL Labs Korea Branch, and has submitted a trademark application to the Korean Intellectual Property Office, and has been committed to establishing a sales network. Currently, JUUL is listed in the US, Germany, France, UK, Switzerland, Canada, Russia and Israel.
It is reported that JUUL Labs plans to provide less than 1% nicotine to its brand. South Korea is allowed to sell e-cigarettes with a nicotine level of up to 2%, while JUUL cartridges sold in the US contain 3-5% nicotine.
The Korean e-cigarette market has entered the "Warring States Period". Where will the heating not burn to go?
“Recently, everyone came to find steam-type e-cigarettes, and the demand for heating and non-combustible products began to decline.” A store manager in a commercial district said in an interview.
South Korea's new cigarette revolution can be said to have entered the Korean market from the Philip Morris International iQOS 2.4 product in June 2017. After that, the heated tobacco track quickly joined BAT Korea's glo and KT&G's lil, which made the new cigarette market a three-legged situation. Korean consumers who choose to use non-combustible products are mainly used for three purposes: low hazard, low taste, and smokeless ash.
According to government regulations, bars and Internet cafes that used to allow smoking have been completely banned, and smoking places are becoming more and more difficult to find. Beginning in December 2016, after the mandatory printing of terrible smoking warning pictures on the packaging of cigarettes, it is increasingly difficult for smokers to smoke. This is one of the reasons why heating and non-combustion are widely chosen and recognized.
Last year, the domestic market share of heating and non-combustion in Korea reached 330 million won, and the market share was as high as 10%. Such a high growth rate has also attracted many overseas companies. Japan Jouz entering the major offline stores in Korea, all 5,000 inventories were sold out in just 10 days, and 20,000 new orders were added.
However, before this, steam-type electronic cigarettes have also stirred up in the market, but because the products can only be purchased online in the electronic cigarette store, and the oil spills and other problems, the current consumer groups basically only contain Electronic cigarette enthusiasts and professional players. Also planned to enter Korea. Occupy more than 70% of the US e-cigarette market, known as JUUL in the electronic cigarette industry.
At the end of 2018, JUUL established a legal person in South Korea, which has a greater possibility of forming a complete distribution channel in the future. JUUL can be easily used with just a replacement, which is a big advantage for previous traditional e-cigarette consumers in Korea.
A representative of the company said: "Our goal is to launch JUUL in the Korean market in the first half of this year or at the latest in the second half of the year."
Practitioners predict that after the launch of different brands of steam smoke products, this means that a large piece of new soil will be reclaimed. Will this replace the existing heated tobacco as the leader in the new smoke track?
